Robotic Pipe Lining Application

AGMEC pipe sprayer application of CORROCOAT Fibrecoat

Why Fibrecoat with AGMEC?

  • High Film Build: Applied in a single or multiple passes up to 3000 microns per coat, saving time and ensuring robust defect coverage.
  • Structural Reinforcement: Glass fibre reinforcement increases tensile and hoop strength, improving pipeline durability under pressure.
  • Abrasion Resistance: Outstanding performance in pipelines carrying solids, slurries, or wastewater.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for pipe diameters from 150 mm to 1.2 m, and runs up to 150 m in length can be lined in one pass.
  • In-Situ Efficiency: Many pipelines can be grit blasted and coated without excavation or dismantling, lowering cost and downtime.
  • Long-Term Protection: Excellent resistance to corrosion, erosion, and chemical attack in aggressive service environments.

Key Benefits at a Glance

  • Rehabilitation of thin-walled and corroded pipelines.
  • Cost savings by avoiding excavation and replacement.
  • Extended service life through structural strengthening.
  • Reduced maintenance and improved asset reliability.
  • Fast turnaround with minimal operational disruption.

TECHNICAL OVERVIEW

AGMEC Pipe Sprayer – Application of Corrocoat Fibrecoat

Product Overview

  • Corrocoat Fibrecoat is a glass fibre-reinforced, vinyl ester, glass-flake composite lining system engineered for structural rehabilitation of corroded pipelines. Designed for high-performance service, Fibrecoat restores mechanical integrity while providing long-term chemical and abrasion resistance.
  • The system is applied using the AGMEC automated pipe sprayer, which enables efficient in-situ application over extended pipe runs. This combination creates a composite “pipe within a pipe” solution that eliminates the need for costly replacement or extensive civil works.

Technical Performance

  • Coating Composition: Vinyl ester resin, reinforced with continuous glass fibres and glass flakes.
  • Application Thickness: Single- or multi-pass application up to 3000 μm (3 mm) per coat.
  • Defect Tolerance: High film build enables bridging of through-wall defects, crack filling, and surface irregularity coverage.
  • Mechanical Enhancement: Provides additional tensile and hoop strength, improving pressure and structural performance of degraded pipelines.
  • Abrasion Resistance: Excellent resistance to erosion and solids handling, suitable for sewage, slurry, and particulate-laden flows.

AGMEC Sprayer Capabilities

  • Pipe Diameter Range: 150 mm – 1200 mm (larger on request).
  • Pipe Length Capacity: Continuous coating of pipe runs up to 100 m in a single pass.
  • In-Situ Rehabilitation: Enables grit blasting and coating without pipe excavation or dismantling in many applications.
  • Efficiency Gains: Single-pass film thickness reduces downtime compared with multi-coat systems.

System Advantages

  • Structural rehabilitation and leak sealing of severely corroded pipework.
  • High-strength lining extending service life of thin-walled or perforated pipes.
  • Elimination or major reduction of excavation and replacement costs.
  • Reduced outage duration and overall maintenance expenditure.

Long-term chemical and abrasion resistance for aggressive service environments.
