Corrocoat SA is a South African based corrosion protection contractor, specialising in the internal lining of process equipment such as tanks, pipelines, pumps, valves etc. where resistance against harsh chemicals or aggressive service conditions such as wear, abrasion and high temperature is required. For this type of specialised work, Corrocoat is the market leader in SA. It is known for undertaking projects where very long service life is required, and for protecting high risk or high value items. Special skills include lining small-bore pipes, including for aggressive chemical conveyance.
Corrocoat SA is majority owned by Corrosioneering Group Ltd, the Leeds, UK based manufacturer of Corrocoat-brand high-performance glass flake coatings and lining materials. Brand names include Polyglass, Corroglass, Plasmet, Corrocoat etc. For these materials, Corrocoat SA is the exclusive licence holder and accredited applicator in Sub-Saharan Africa. By contracting Corrocoat SA to install these materials the end-user obtain a truly OEM lining product, based on international best-practice and world-class standards, and backed by a single-source warranty from the material supplier & contractor.
Corrocoat SA was registered in 1980, and is an established, large and stable company. We have workshops in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. Our workshops are fully equipped and staffed to render maintenance and support services for all corrosion related repairs and refurbishments.
All work is done under full-time competent supervision, and according to a detailed quality control and -inspection and test plan based on the manufacturer’s international best practice standards, with full time quality control and inspection of all critical aspects of the work by NACE certified coating inspectors. The same skill and resources are available for any maintenance, repairs or refurbishment that may be required in future, and which will be done to the same standard in the field as the original lining work done in the factory.
Corrocoat SA operate from 3 geographical locations in SA, with workshops in Cape Town, Johannesburg & Durban.
Each branch is fully staffed and resourced to perform the majority of its projects using own branch resources. Each branch have all equipment, staff, vehicles, resources required to undertake site-based and workshop projects, and operate largely as separate business unit.
Each branch have a branch manager, production manager, various production & site supervisors, skilled and semi-skilled artisans, administration staff, stock controllers/storemen and support staff.
On very large site projects, branches collaborate and share resources and staff. Production planning and resource allocation is then done centrally. For this purpose, the company established a Large Projects Division, which assumes responsibility for planning and project managing large national projects that exceed the capacity of individual branches. This division is staffed with project managers, contract managers, quantity surveyors and similar senior staff, as may be required to plan and execute major projects, which would otherwise overburden branch staff who normally perform these functions for normal sized projects.
The administration and financial head-office is based at our Durban facility. Head-office staff provide HR, financial and treasury support to the 3 branches.
