PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Corrosion protection to 2216 Sqm of concrete
trenches & sumps a Power Station Build
coal fired Wet Flue Gas Desulphurisation plant.
SCOPE OF WORK
The scope of works included the furnishing and
installation of glass-flake linings for circa 2216 Sqm of
open trenches and Sumps for the Wet Flue Gas
Desulphurisation Plant. Corrocoat’s supply obligation
included the supply of all linings, primers, glass cloth,
abrasive blast equipment and materials, safety
equipment, protective equipment, airless application
equipment, temporary structures and all site
management & labour necessary to professionally
deliver, install, QC test & warrant all site linings.
SUBSTRATE
New cast concrete with a minimum 30Mpa strength.
In excess of 28 days old.
CORROCOAT PRODUCTS USED
All concrete surfaces abrasive blast cleaned to remove
surface laitance & thoroughly vacuumed to remove
surface dust. All surfaces primed with Corrocoat WCP
(Wet Concrete Primer) to wet-out the surface & seal
concrete pores. Multi-directional woven-roving
glass-fibre, saturated with VE Laminating Resin was
applied to increase structural stability and limit any
potential for shrinkage during curing, prior to the
application of POLYGLASS VEF to a DFT of
1000 – 1500 µm.
